Our roots
in territory

Strappelli winery was born in the municipality of Torano Nuovo, a small village in Abruzzo known above all for the cultivation of vines.

Our enchanting vineyards, spread across 14 hectares, are located in a hilly area in the Teramo hinterland. Torano Nuovo boasts the denomination of “Capital of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo”.

Montepulciano is a vine that gives its name to a structured, full-bodied red wine, produced in late autumn, which collects the breath of wind from the Gran Sasso and accompanies it towards the sea to meet a milder breeze.

A generous land, an ideal microclimate, characterized by a temperature range due to the altitude which favors ideal maturation but also a concentration and finesse of the aromas in the grapes.

Hence the production of organically grown wines that tell of our roots and our future. Everything is in perfect harmony with olive groves and arable land, an ideal environment for quality agriculture.

The choice of vines was made respecting traditions by opting for native varieties such as Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Passerina, Pecorino, Malvasia and Trebbiano d’Abruzzo.

The soil rich in clay and sandstone gives life to authentic, deeper wines suited to ageing.
