Our roots

The Strappelli Winery was established in the Municipality of Torano Nuovo, a small village known above all for the cultivation of vines.

Our enchanting vineyards, spread over 14 hectares, are located on a hilly area of Teramo. Torano Nuovo boasts the denomination of ‘Capital of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo’.

Montepulciano is a vine which gives its name to a full-bodied, robust red wine produced in late Autumn. The vine receives the wind blowing from Gran Sasso and accompanies it towards the sea where it encounters a milder breeze.

A generous land, an ideal microclimate, which due to its altitude is characterised by a temperature range which favours an ideal maturation and also a concentration and finesse of the aromas in the grapes.

Hence our wines produced by organic farming which speak of our roots and of our future, all in perfect harmony with olive trees and arable land, an ideal environment for quality agriculture.

The choice of vines was made respecting traditions by opting for traditional varieties such as Montepulciano, Passerina, Pecorino, Malvasia and Trebbiano d’Abruzzo.

The soil rich in clay and sandstone gives life to authentic wines which are more robust and intense and which age well.
